Fehintola entered into the hall trying to get where the proprietress was sitting.

One of the waiters went to meet her,
"What would you like to have ma'am?"

"I'm here to meet someone" she answered.

"Dr.(Mrs) Edward?"

"Exactly sir"

"Come with me," she followed the waiter to a closed part of the restaurant, and there she saw the proprietress seated with six bodyguards around her all dressed in suits.

"Thank you"  Mrs Edward appreciated the waiter and waved him off.

"Good afternoon ma" Tola greeted.

"Good afternoon Tola, you can have your seat"

"Thank you ma" She said taking her seat directly opposite the proprietress.

"You're welcome dear, what would you like to eat and drink?" the proprietress asked.

"Nothing ma, I'm very fine, I just finished eating before coming," Tola said smiling.

"Not even water?"

"No ma, I'm fine. Thank you ma" 

"Okay. I'm sure you know why I invited you here" the proprietress started.

"I have no idea ma" Tola answered.

"Okay, it's because of my son, Ryan." 

"Yeah, I heard you bailed him out already," Tola said and looked away.

"I had to, he's my only child, he's all I have, and that's why I invited you here" She paused.
"Tola, I need your help, please  I want you to drop the charges you filed against Ryan," the proprietress dropped. Tola looked up sharply.

Tola was mute for a few seconds, then she found her voice. "But ma..." Tola started but was interrupted by the proprietress.

"I will give you N20 million."

"Oh!" Tola was short of words. "But I have vowed to..." She hadn't finished the sentence when the proprietress interrupted again.

"I will make it N50 million"

Tola exhaled. "But ma, this case has gone beyond me, it has gotten to the government, and there's nothing I can do about it"

"Okay, I'll give you a hundred million naira, all I need you to do is tell the court that Ryan was taking Alex to the hospital when the police, that it was all a mistake," the proprietress said and Tola suddenly became angry.

"Really?!" Tola almost screamed.

"Please," the proprietress pleaded.

"So all you care about is your son, how do we get justice for this girl?" Tola asked.

"I will fly Alice and her sister out of the country, to any country of their choice to continue their education, she will receive treatment and be fine "

"Wow!" Tola answered. "Do you realise Alice wasn't the only girl your son has been molesting in the school?" Tola said and she realised the proprietress wasn't surprised.

"Oh! You knew?"  Tola said realising the kind of person the proprietress is.

"So you knew your son had been sleeping with the innocent girls in your school and you did nothing about it!" Tola asked raising her eyebrow in astonishment.

"He's my only child, I had him after eight years of waiting, and I couldn't have any other children after him," She said with pitiful eyes.

"So because he's your only child, you decided to destroy him, whenever he does something wrong, you overlook it instead of scolding him,  now you have decided to buy his freedom again, let this guy go to prison so he can learn"  she paused and exhaled.

"Maybe that's why God didn't give you more children because the one he finally trusted you with, you couldn't train him." She paused and continued immediately.

"Why do most parents with one child find it difficult to train them?" She asked. "I'm an only child as well and I am well-trained!" She said raising her voice.

"Young lady, I will not have you insult me, I only called you here so you won't feel cheated, I can do this without your help. I have money, I have power and I have connections. I will pay all necessary dues, and bribe as many pockets as possible. I promise you Ryan will come out a free man, so I will advise you to take the money I'm offering you now or you lose everything" the proprietress said.

"Well, I might not have all those things you mentioned, but I have a very big God, and he will not let me down," Tola answered.

"Okay then, we shall see." The proprietress said and then stood up. "You can call me after considering my offer," She said and turned to leave.

"But ma," Tola said, the proprietress turned to face her.

"You changed your mind already?" She asked.

"Alex could be your daughter you know," Tola said.

"But then she is not my daughter," She said giving Tola a hard stare, she turned back and left with her bodyguards.

Tola brought out her phone and clicked on the save button of the voice recorder, she then stood up and left the eatery.

 Alex travelled back to Abuja with his daughters after spending three days with his wife in Lagos. 

He called Juliet and invited her to come to spend the following week with him in Abuja and that has been the best news of that year for Juliet.

"Alex is finally going to rock this body. Oh my God!" She screamed happily as she imagined under the shower.

She started imagining herself in bed with Alex.

"It's going to be heavenly," She thought.

She end up masturbating as she started feeling horny, she didn't want to sleep around again, she wants to keep herself for only Alex.

"I'll be travelling home on Wednesday," she told Chidinma.

"Why? Hope no problem?" Chidinma asked concerned.

"No, not at all" she laughed "I'm just missing home, so I will go on Wednesday and come back on Tuesday"

"That's a week, won't you go to work?" Chidinma came again.

"I took a sick leave,  Monday and Tuesday are public holidays" Juliet answered.

"Are you sick?" Chidinma asked her.

"See Chichi, I can't come and kill myself, I want to rest for a week, then I will resume work next week Wednesday"

"Okay, it is well" Chidinma answered  "But, that's a lie and it's not right as a child of God" 

"I know but..." Juliet started and looked away.

"Anyway, I wish journey mercies" Chichi smiled.

"Thanks, dear" Juliet smiled back.
