EPISODE 39 (Not edited)

Chichi had just retired to bed, after her birthday celebration. Her husband had woken her up with a flower, and on getting to the sitting room, she saw a lot of people, her friends, and inlaws, she was wowed! 

Anabel, her sister-in-law had gone to dress her up. It was her best birthday ever. She did enjoy herself.

"Thank you," She whispered when Alex lay down beside her on the bed.

"You deserve more, my queen," Alex smiled. "Honey," He called.

"Yes dear,"

"Can I see your phone? I want to check your pictures,"

"Okay," Chidinma said and passed her phone to Alex.

Alex checked some pictures and they laughed together, then Chidinma's eyes started closing and before long, she slept off.

Alex moved to her WhatsApp and went straight to her archive, then he saw the chat.

"So Juliet was right," Alex thought, he became angry.

He screenshot the chat and sent it to his own WhatsApp chat, and then he dropped the phone and slept.

Juliet and Kate went back to Baba's place for the sacrifice. 

Baba gave her a calabash,

"There's a powder and a soap in this calabash, stand up in the middle of the night, say whatever you want into this powder and blow it into the air. Bath with the soap and make sure the first man you see after bathing is your husband."

"That's very simple, thank you, Baba," Juliet smiled.

Chichi had woken up in the middle of the night and saw her husband sitting and staring into space.

"Honey," She called, he didn't hear

"Honey," She called again, this time louder, and tapping him at the same time.

"Yes," He jolted into reality,

"What happened? What are you thinking about?" She asked concerned,

"Ehm," He scratched his head, "Nothing dear,"

"There's something, why are you not sleeping?"

"Nothing, I'll sleep back," Alex said and laid down to sleep.

"No, tell me whatever is wrong with you, I noticed you weren't really happy during the birthday party yesterday, you were just faking your smile," She said,

"Faking my smile, how? I don't get you" He asked,

"We've been married for 4 years, so I know when you're happy and when you're not," Chichi answered,

"You barely spend three months at home, since you school,"

"I still know my husband, so spirit" 

"You really want us to talk about it now," He asked.

"Yes,"

"Well, I wanted to wait till morning, but since you want us to talk about it now, it's fine," He said picking up her phone,

"Take," He gave the phone to her.

"This is my phone, what about it?"

"Go to your WhatsApp and go to your archive,"

"Okay," Chichi obeyed,

"Now, who is Joy?"

"You know Joy is my kid sister now, but then I didn't remember archiving her chat," She answered.

"There are two Joys on your contact list, check it," He answered.

"What's going on here? I have just one Joy in my contact list,"

"Okay, check the chat," Alex said

Chichi checked the chat and started having goosebumps.

"I don't know anything  about this,"

"So how did it get to your phone?"

"I don't know," She answered with fear in her voice.

"Are you cheating on me?" He asked,

"You know I won't cheat on you now," she said almost crying, "This looks like a set up"

"Set up? Could someone have set Chichi up," Alex thought. He looked at her,

"Honey, please believe me, I will never cheat on you," Chichi said, already on her knees.

Alex was still trying to think when something entered his chest.

"Arghh!," He held his chest,

"Honey, what's wrong?," Chichi stood from her kneeling position and rushed to his side. 

" I just felt something entered my chest,"

"Something entered your chest, how?" Chichi asked confused, "From your throat down or what?" She asked again.

"I don't know, I just felt something hit me," Alex answered.

"Let me get you water," she rushed to the kitchen to get water for him.

Alex drank the water and relaxed for a few minutes then all of a sudden, he stood up,

"Are you fine now," Chichi asked.

He didn't answer, she suddenly disgusted him.

"And you want me to believe you don't know how this chat got to your phone?" He asked frowning,

"Eh! My God, I don't know, believe me," 

"Why didn't you serve in Abuja? I should have known when you decided to stay in Lagos instead of redeploying to Abuja," Alex said.

"What are you saying again? You know I tried to redeploy but it wasn't easy because I didn't change my name, and because of the stress we both agreed that I stayed back in Lagos since it's just for a year. Have you forgotten?" She said.

"Why didn't you insist on going through the stress and changing your name instead of agreeing to stay back in Lagos, it's because you already have what you want to do in mind, you lose woman!" Alex fired.

"What?!" Chidinma screamed, "You call me loose? Me! Loose woman!" She suddenly got angry.

"Yes, you are loose, after everything I do for you, you still have the guts to go after men, Slut!" Alex answered.

"How dare you call me slut Alex? You of all people have the right to call someone slut? You Alex! If I'm a slut, what are you? You have shared your body with almost all the women in this city, and I still managed to endure, I treat sexually transmitted diseases all the time because I am married, and you dare open your mouth to call me Slut!

I stopped my friends from coming to my place because my husband is shameless and he thinks with his manhood, I have been managing your madness for long, but just because you saw one chat which is not even real on my phone, you call me slut," She said, "You now see how I feel when you cheat on me right?"

"Oh! You're trying to revenge right? Remember when a man cheats, it's not the same thing as when a woman cheats, I am the head of this family you can't be competing with me, we do not have equal rights," He said.

"Oh! Please, shut your mouth," Chidinma said and he slapped her.

"Alex! You slapped me?" she said as tears dropped from her eyes, she couldn't believe what just happened because Alex had never raised his hand on her.

"And I will slap you again if you don't shut that mouth of yours," Alex said,

"Ah! Sam was right, I have missed it in marriage, You do not only cheat, you now slap me?" Chidinma said as tears streamed down her face.

"Oh! Sam too? My source was right, you also slept with that idiot pastor, You know what, I want you to do me a favour," He started,

"First thing in the morning pack your rags and leave my house, I'm done with this hell of a marriage." He said.

"What?!" Chichi couldn't believe her ears, "What did you just say?"

"You heard me," Alex answered, "Why did I even marry you in the first place, I should have known you were a loose woman when you decided to get pregnant out of wedlock, I should have just collected my children from you. I was not ready, I am not even ready till now, I should still be on the street enjoying my life if you had not trapped me in this lifeless marriage. Well, it's over! I'm done!"

Chidinma couldn't believe her ears,

"Alex, it's me Chichi, your Chichi," She said,

"You will hear from my lawyer soon," he hissed and walked out of the room.

Chidinma sat on the ground,

"God, what is happening? Am I dreaming? Somebody should wake me up," she cried.

"Alex!" She screamed.
