Frank had been sitting and waiting for close to twenty minutes, he kept checking his time, he was sipping a drink and looking at the entrance at the same time.
Just then, Kenny came in she looked around, and then she saw Frank waving at her she walked up to the table.
"You're welcome" Frank said pulling out a chair for her to seat.
"Thank you" Kenny smiled taking her seat.
"You're welcome dear" Frank said taking his seat.
"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," she said
"Not a problem dear, I know you would want to take your time to dress up and spice everything up and trust me it's worth it 'cause you look ravishing," Frank said
"Thank you" Kenny smiled.
"What would you like to have?" He asked.
"Anything you have is okay by me," She answered.
"Ok. Waiter!" Frank called.
"Good evening sir, what would you like to have?" the waiter asked.
"Serve me two plates of jollof rice with fried rice side by side, with chicken lap and fish at the centre, surround the plate with plantains, then get us two orange juice," Frank said.
"Alright sir," The waiter left.
"Really?!" Kenny asked surprised.
"What?" Frank asked.
"Oh, my God!" Kenny laughed.
"What now?" Frank asked laughing too.
"You sure know your way around the menu," Kenny said.
"Oh! That?!" Frank laughed.
"I love it when my food is well-presented," He said
"I'm a chef myself" He continued.
"Wow! You cook?" Kenny asked surprised.
"Yes," He said
"Just like Sam," She smiled.
"Who's Sam?"
"My brother,"
"Oh! Tell me about yourself," He said
"I'm Kenny, the second child of a set of twins, I'm an agriculturist, and I'm presently serving here, what else?" she asked
"I think that's all,"
"What about your parents?" He asked.
"They are late," she answered
"Oh! I'm sorry about that" He said.
"It's fine" She smiled "It's been seven years already"
Just then the waiter came with their food.
"Thank you," Kenny said
"You're welcome ma'am," The waiter said and left.
"Now your turn," Kenny said.
"Yeah, I'm Frank the first child of a family of five, a boy and two girls" He answered.
"I studied mass communication in Unijos, though I currently work in the bank. That's all right?" He said.
"What's your strength?" She asked
"You didn't tell me that" He joked.
"Yeah, I forgot and besides you didn't ask," She laughed.
"I'm a good listener, and I'm self-motivated"
"Oh! That's good, your hobbies?"
"Okay, like I said earlier, I love cooking I love games, I love sports,"
"Oh! I see, it's obvious," Kenny said.
"My muscle right?" He laughed.
"Yeah," she laughed too.
"So what are your strengths and hobbies?" He asked.
"Empathy, I love to learn new things, and I learn pretty fast" She replied
"And my hobbies; I love singing, reading, and I love music."
"Wow, that's a good one," He commended her.
"Yeah," She smiled.
After some time, Kenny's phone rang, it was Sam, he picked it up.
"Hello Sam"
"Hello dear, where are you?" Sam asked
"I told you I was going on a date with Frank" She replied.
"Yes, it's almost 8 pm, when will you be back?" He asked.
"Soon" she replied.
"We've been hearing that Jesus is coming soon since we were kids, give me time abeg," He said.
"You ehn," Kenny laughed "I'll be back in 30 minutes"
"Alright dear, expecting you"
"Ok dear," Kenny said and ended the call.
"That's my brother," she said checking her watch "I'll soon be going"
"You came in barely an hour ago," Frank said displeased.
"No, it's over 2 hours, I came in past 5 and this is 7:50" Kenny defended.
"Okay, but please let's stay till 9," He said.
"9 pm?!" she exclaimed "My brother will not take it easy with me,"
Frank relaxed on the chair looking at Kenny strangely.
"What happened? Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked
"This your brother, is he your elder brother or twin brother?"
"Twin brother of course, why do you ask?"
"You talk like he's your father," Frank said.
Kenny smiled, "Well, Sam is more of a father than a twin brother, and besides he's the only person I have left in this whole wide world," she answered.
"More of a father than a brother? Tell me about him" Frank said.
"Okay, after our parents died, our uncles and aunties, promise us heaven and earth. They sent money for a few weeks and stopped. Luckily for us, Sam learned bag and shoe making from Dad before he died, so he ventured into it and he was able to feed us, pay our school fees and meet our basic needs. Sam sponsored himself and me to the university from this business. I started selling the bags and shoes online when I got to the university to assist him."She paused and continued.
"Sam is not just a father to me financially, he is my spiritual father, he's everything, in fact, Sam will walk me down the aisle on my wedding day if we do not get married on the same day," Kenny said.
"Wow! He's truly a father, he is going to be a responsible husband and father" Frank said impressed.
"Sure," She supported "I'm already jealous of his future wife, she's a lucky woman" She smiled.
"I need to go now," Kenny said,
Frank held her.
"Kenny, let me be the man in your life, these past few days have been the best days of my life, and seeing you tonight makes my day fulfilled, please, I love you, Kenny"
Kenny sighed.
"You aren't saying anything," Frank said.
"I will pray about it, I need to go now," Kenny said, and just then, her phone rang again, it's Sam. She stood up.
"Thanks so much, Frank, I enjoyed myself, it's nice meeting you"
"Thanks for coming dear, can I hug you?" He asked.
"Okay, Kenny give him a slight hug and ran off, Frank Smiled.
