Geila's students were on break, Mary went to meet Tola in the staff room.

"Good afternoon Corper Tola,"

"Good afternoon dear, how are you?"

"I'm fine ma" She smiled "Corper Tola, can I see you for some minutes?"

"Okay, I hope it's not something serious. Should we go to the school garden?"

"Not at all ma, We don't need to go to the school garden, it's not something serious," Mary answered.

"Okay, I'm listening"

"Ma, can I meet with the lawyer in charge of Alice's case," Mary asked looking concerned.

Tola was confused, she looked at the young girl standing before her.

"Is there a problem? Can you share it with me?" Tola asked.

"I want to meet the lawyer before talking, please ma," Mary answered.

"Okay no problem, we'll go to her office after closing, is that okay with you?"

"Yes ma, thank you ma," Mary smiled

"Babe, you need to see how he was defending his wife" Juliet was on the phone with Kate.

"Wow! This is serious, he really loves his wife," Kate answered.

"He said they will sort it out, he said he loves her, he said he can't trade her for anything in the world," Juliet said with tears in her eyes.

"Hmmm... Babe calm down, I will take you somewhere," Kate said.

"Kate, I will go anyway, I think I love Alex, the way he defends his wife makes me love him more, I want him to defend me too, I'm jealous of Chidinma right now, I want to be Alex's wife, please, help me," She cried more.

"I will take you somewhere next week," Kate said.

"Wait, I hope it's not something diabolical, I no do charm o, it will backfire," Juliet said with fear in her voice.

"This Baba I'm taking you to is very powerful, his father passed it to him, and he's very good at it. I can vouch for him, it won't backfire, I promise you Alex will forget about his wife and you will be his only wife, trust me," Kate said.

"Kate I'm afraid o, I hope it won't backfire,"

"It won't, I dey your back, no shake," Kate answered.

"Are you sure?"

" I'm hundred percent sure, just calm down,"

Tola and Mary go to Barrister Kemi's law firm.

"Good afternoon, the law," Tola smiled.

"See who we have here, the one and only children advocate of our time," she hailed Tola.

"Abi now," they both laughed.

"You're welcome, Miss Tola," Barr. smiled

"Thank you, ma'am," Tola smiled back.

"What do I owe this visit?"

"It's one of my daughters here, she says she wants to see you," Tola answered.

"Hi dear, how may I help you?"

"What are you doing about Alice's case," Mary asked.

"I'm trying my best dear, We need more witnesses and evidence as the only evidence has been rendered useless,"  Kemi answered.

"You're not trying your best ma, With the way you are going, we will lose this case, this case has been adjourned thrice already, Mr Ryan must be imprisoned," Mary said.

"He will not go scot-free by God's grace," Kemi said.

"When is the next meeting ma?" Mary asked.

"Monday," Kemi answered.

"Ma, please put me in the witness box," Mary said.

Tola looked at Mary, she looked at Kemi and they both exchanged glances, they were both quiet for some time.

"Ehm, sorry, I forgot to ask for your name,"

"I'm Mary,"

"Okay, you want to tell me something about Mr Ryan," Kemi asked

"Yes, ma,"

"Ok,  I'm listening,"

Isaac, Rachael and Aduke, Tola's grandparents were all seated.  Dave, Tola's fiancee was also around. He had completed his Masters and had returned to Nigeria two days before the party. Alice sat beside Tola, she was having a great time. Nike also came around to celebrate with Adewale, other families and friends had all come and they all sat at different tables. The MC cracked some jokes and everyone laughed. Sarah removed the wrapper and wiped her tears, then she sat up. "Tola," She called and sobbed on her shoulder.
