Annabelle got to the car and sat beside Chidinma,

"How did it go?" Chidinma asked.

"Let's go home," Annie said,

"Please tell me," 

"He ordered me out of his house," Annie answered, Chidinma breathed heavily.

"It's okay dear, we'll get to the root of this matter, Something is wrong somewhere," Annie said,

Then she drove to her parent's house where the twins stayed they jumped up on seeing their mother.

"Mummy!" The chorused running to hug her.

"Chichi what's wrong with your face?"

Her mother-in-law asked on seeing her swollen face.

"Your son did that to her" Annie answered before Chidinma could talk.

"What?! Alex now beats his wife?"

Mrs. Coker said with her hands on her head. "Who did he take that from? His father never lay a finger on me,"

"Mum you need to do something he's asking for a divorce," Annie said.

"I went there yesterday evening, and he ordered me out of his house, That idiot in his house doesn't even have respect," Mrs Coker lamented.

"Alex also asked you to leave, it is finished." Chindima sat down on the ground crying.

"It's okay, Chichi," Annie tried to console her. "We will get to the root of this, I promise,"

"I called my husband, You know Alex respects and fears his father,  so I reported him to his father,  he travelled for a meeting yesterday morning. So he promised to call him, By the time he called me back, he said Alex told him not to call his line again and  then hung up on him."

"Mum, this is not ordinary o, That lady came prepared, she purposely turned his back on everyone," Annie said 

"That's it!" Chichi said, "I know my husband, he can be a cheat, but then he still loves me ." Chichi said crying.

"Everything was still fine three days ago, he planned the surprise birthday himself. What happened overnight?"

"It was the chat he saw, that same lady in his house set me up," Chichi replied.

"You know her before?" Her mother-in-law in law asked.

"She's my friend in Lagos, we are serving together."

"Really!"Annie and Mrs. Coker exclaimed.

"The mistake I made was that I allowed my husband to come visit me in Lagos, I should have disagreed." She broke down again.

"It's fine my dear, everything will be fine." Mrs. Coker assured her.

Sam knocked on Kenny's room door, she came out.

"Kenny are you busy, I want us to talk, please."

"Ok, come in"

"No, let's go sit by the stream"

"Why do you like that stream? My roommate is not around, so you can come in."

"Yeah, but the wall has ears," Sam answered.

"Hun hun, okay, let's go." They went to the stream and sat down on the sand.

"Kenny" He started.

"I heard something about you and I'm not happy at all."

"What's that?"She asked.

"I heard you were kissing Frank." He dropped.

"Oh! Tola told you?" She said raising her eyebrow.

"She wasn't gossiping about you,  she just told me so I could talk to you," Sam explained.

"Ok," Kenny answered already boiling inside her.

"Kenny"

"Yes"

"Can you do me a favour?"

"What favour?"

"Promise me you will do it," 

"You know since we were kids that I do not promise," Kenny said,

"But you have promised me times without number," Sam answered 

"I no longer want to promise," She came again,

"Kenny, why are you proving hard? You were not this rigid, the Kenny I know used to be flexible, What has come over you?" He asked,

"Maybe I no longer want to be flexible," She answered

"My God!" Sam said facing the sky, 

He went on his knees and crawled to Kenny's front.

"Why are you kneeling?" she asked,

"Kenny, please you need to do this for me, please,"

"Ok, I'm listening,"

"Please pick up your phone, call Frank, break up with him and block him," Sam said,

Kenny stood up immediately, "You lie! No one will stop me from marrying Frank, not you, not Tola, not anyone,"

"Kenny please, you can see I'm begging you, I beg you in the name of God, please," Sam said still on his knees

"In fact, I need to see that Tola now, since she has a running mouth," Kenny said running towards the Lodge, Sam stood up and ran after her.

"Kenny! Please stop!"

Kenny increased her speed so Sam wouldn't catch up with her.

Kenny banged Tola's door heavily, and Tola and Sarah rushed out.

"What's going on here?" they asked in unison,

"Basket mouth," Kenny started,

"Kenny, stop!" Sam tried to stop her,

"You know you can't stop me right now," She snapped at him.

"Since you know you're good at broadcasting, you could have just studied mass communication, instead of poking your nose into my matter. Now, let me make this clear, let this be the last time, you will interfere in my matter, I'm no longer under your mentorship, I renounce you as my mentor as of today."

"Kenny!" Sam called again, Kenny hissed folding her hand. 

"I'm sorry Kenny, I didn't mean to report you, I noticed you're going astray, I thought the only person that could talk to you was Sam, so I decided to tell him about it," Tola explained,

"As my father or what?"

"As your brother who meant well for you," Tola answered,

Everyone in the lodge had gathered, it was a public holiday, so everyone was around.

"Kenny you are creating a scene, why are you doing this now?" Sam asked already getting angry.

"I'm not creating any scene, I'm only trying to clear things here, You all should just leave me alone! Ah!" She screamed. "Sam, leave me alone!"

"Kenny I will not leave you alone, in fact, I will not take it easy with you," 

"Oh! Really? Ok now, Go ahead," She said 

"I will do everything within my power to make sure you do not marry that guy," He answered,

"You lie, you can't stop me from marrying him,

"I think it's high time I reminded you that you are my twin brother, not my father, not even my elder brother" Kenny screamed again,

Sam could no longer hold it,

"Kenny!" He started, "I'm more of a father to you than anyone would ever be, I sponsored your tertiary education, I met all your basic needs right from when our parents died, I did everything possible to satisfy you, even if your father was alive, he wouldn't do more than that," He dropped, Kenny was dumbfounded, tears flowed down from her eyes.

"You could have just gone to a radio station, so the whole world would know you sent me to school," Kenny answered, Sam tried to talk,

"Sam stop! It's okay please, you are a man, act like one, please," Joseph said patting him on the back.

"Don't stop him, let him talk," She said "Sam please, continue, You forgot to tell them that I wrote WAEC thrice and Jamb twice and you paid for everything,"

"Kenny, it's okay please," Sarah said, she doesn't like seeing Sam get angry.

"Hold it, please! I wasn't talking to you, so don't even interfere,"  Kenny said,

"Kenny, your blood dey hot, You need to calm down, so you won't regret your actions later," Sarah advised.

"I repeat, no one, not you, or anyone will stop me from marrying Frank. You all can go to hell for all I care," She stormed into her room and locked the door from behind,

"My sister has missed it," Sam said with his hand on his head.

"Just pray for her, that's the only option left, because her mind is made up and no living being can change it. So just put her case in God's hand," Joseph said.
