EPISODE 33 (Not edited)

Tola was talking to her dad on the phone.

"Dad, you sound cold, what happened?" She asked.

"Something happened today," He answered.

"What's that? Hope it's not something serious, should I start coming home?" Tola asked concerned.

"Come on, no dear, face your Alice's case. It's not something serious," He laughed.

"So what happened?"

"I saw Nike today," Adewale started,

"Who is Nike?"

"The psychologist I consulted for you then, you remember her?"

"Oh! Aunty Niike, I remember her, how's she? I hope she's fine,"

"She's not fine o, the state I met her was not a good one at all,"

"Oh! What happened?"

"Her husband died, so his family members collected everything they both worked for from her and chased her out because she couldn't give them a child," Adewale said.

"Oh! This is why women should work on themselves and not depend on a man's property," Tola said

"Well, according to her, the property is hers, her late husband was not financially okay, she was the breadwinner," He explained

"What?! So they took her property away from her?"

"Yes, she bought everything in her husband's name,"

"Ah! What happened to her own name? Or better still, she should buy it in both names. What's wrong with Mr and Mrs? This is why I don't support stuffs like this o, to avoid story that touches the heart, Aunty Nike should know better now,"

"Exactly, she should have bought it in both names, now the family is saying she can't inherit their son's property because she didn't give them any child,"

"And is it her fault that she can't have babies," Tola said,

"Funny enough, the problem wasn't from her, it was her husband that's not fertile, she showed me the result of the test, and she agreed to stay with him since marriage is for better for worse, and now she's lost everything, the house, the school they both manage," Adewale said,

"Wair, what did the man even do for that marriage, money he doesn't have, babies he couldn't give," Tola complained.

"According to Nike, he was a good man, life was not just fair with him," Adewale answered,

"If it was Aunty Nike that was infertile, would the story have been the same? I'm sure the man would have remarried, women are going through a lot in this men's world,"

"Hmmm...  men are not the same Tola, that I'm praying for you day and night that you will not marry wrong," Adewale said,

"Amen! So how did you meet her?"

"I went to visit Segun at his office today when I saw her working as an office assistant, A school proprietress working as an office assistant, her story was touching, she sleeps at the reception after even one has closed she couldn't go back to her family as her father was not in support of her marrying her husband from the beginning,"

"Is it that bad?"

"Yes, she has nothing left, they collected everything, except her clothes, after some time she got a job at Segun's place,"

"Daddy please help her," Tola said.

"Yeah, I already gave her one of my vacant 3-bedroom flats, and I told Segun she will no longer be working with him," Adewale answered.

"Thank you Daddy, I'm happy you are my Dad, I am proud of you," Tola smiled,

"Nike deserves more than that, she's a good woman,"

"Yes, I pity her," Tola said, "But Dad you need to fight for her o, you should sue her in-laws to court, her properties shouldn't go like that, it's not fair,"

"Omofehintola, you and case sha, you should have just studied law, you still have one in front of you, you are telling me to sue another person, kilode?" Adewale laughed while Tola joined.

"No now, it's not that I like case, I just hate cheating,"

"Well, I already have it in mind to charge her in-laws to court, but let her  relax first she's been through a lot already," Adewale said,

"Thank you, daddy, I love you,"

"I love you too baby," He smiled, "So how's Alice doing?"

"She's doing very fine. Dad, freedom is a good thing, Alice got 18/20 in Biology test today, something that has never happened since I got to that school, I'm very happy she's healing fast,"

"Wow! That's good, I'm proud of you my baby,"

"Thanks, Dad," she smiled.
