"My mum works for the proprietress, Uncle Ryan's Mum as a maid," Mary started,

"She takes me there whenever she wants to go and work, a time came, our rent was due and we had no money to pay, so our landlord threw us out.

The proprietress told us to move in with her, It was a day of joy, my mum and I danced, I didn't know I was walking to my doom. We moved into the house..." She paused and continued almost immediately.

"Uncle Ryan started by telling me to sit on his leg whenever we are alone. I wasn't comfortable with it, because he touches my body in a way I don't like. Then he started putting his fingers into my pants.  I tried to tell my mum, but she shunned me, she said I shouldn't let the proprietress know about it so she won't throw us out of her house," she paused and then continued.

"One day, Uncle Ryan came to my mum to tell her he wanted her to withdraw me from the school I attend and move to Geila boarding school, my mum was very happy that I'll be moving with rich people's children. I cried and cried because I knew Uncle Ryan had plans but Mum scolded me. 

I moved to the boarding school, Uncle Ryan come to my hostel to pick me up every night and take me to a house he rented a few drives away from the school," Mary said with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry about that dear," Tola said wiping her tears.

"That's not all, Corper Tola," 

"Hun?!" Tola said surprised

"Uncle Ryan has taken me for abortion four times,"

"What?!" Tola and Kemi exclaimed.

"Oh my God!" Tola rested her head in her hand.

"Did you tell your mum after that?" Kemi asked,

"Well, I tried to, but she won't even allow me to talk, She already remarried and left me with Uncle Ryan, She had me out of wedlock and my dad didn't accept it, so I have accepted my fate,"

"I'm sorry for everything you went through dear," Kemi said touched.

Mary rolled her sleeve up, there was mark all over her body.

"What happened to you?" Tola asked 

"I cut myself to get Uncle Ryan's blood out of my body, I hate myself, I hate my life, I hate Uncle Ryan, I hate him," She said clenching her fist and then facing Tola.
"Corper Tola, he used him, he used his fingers, he used his toes, he performed different sex styles with me, Anal, oral, he handled me like a prostitute, he showed my body no respect, after sometimes, he said my boobs have sagged, my vagina was loosed and..."

"Stop!" Tola whispered, pulling her into a warm embrace.
"It's okay dear," She said closing her eyes, trying to send back the tears gathering in her eyes.

Kemi placed her head on the table, she couldn't believe what she just heard.

"You are going to put me in the witness box right?"

"No, I'm sorry,"

"But why ma,?"

"I'm a woman, I have a daughter like you, I cannot put you in the witness box, before you know it, your picture will be all over the news, social media, blogs, etcetera. Your future is important, I don't want people to point fingers at you in public,"

"What future are you talking about ma? What's left? I have no future?"

"No, that's not true!" Tola said, "You have a future, and it's very bright, You are a great woman, you will go places, Every great man and woman you see today, has a story to tell, You will come out strong my dear, so please don't believe the devil, he's a liar, believe God's promises for your life, don't look down on yourself okay?" Tola assured her.

"Ok ma," Mary nodded " But Alice's picture is all over the internet, Does it mean she has no future," Mary asked, Kemi looked at Mary surprised.

"Well, Alice's case was a mistake, we will not make more mistakes and besides your story is more complicated than that of Alice, I already recorded your voice, I will play it in court, but I won't call you to the witness box," Kemi said, "Your story is enough to send him straight to prison," 

"Thank you ma," Mary smiled
