Chidinma couldn’t sleep that night, she had been watchful of Juliet the day she asked for her phone that she wanted to see her babies' picture. She opened her phone's gallery and gave the phone to Juliet. 

Juliet was going through the pictures on her phone, when she saw her wedding pictures.

“Wow! Your husband is cute!” She complimented.

“Thanks dear” Chidinma smiled, everyone who saw her husband for the first time had always told her that.

“If only I can have him just once” Juliet said in a low tone.

“What did you say?!” Chidinma shouted.

“Nothing”

Chidinma has a long ear, so she heard what she said clearly.

“Give me my phone,” Chidinma snatched her phone and entered her room.

Juliet smiled mischievously.

Chidinma knew the effect her husband’s physique always had on ladies, he has the height, six packs and  he’s well built, brown skinned, and very rich, he had everything most ladies wanted in a man.

She met Alex when she went for her Post UTME exam at Anambra state University, he was in 300 level then, she asked him where the exam venue was, and Alex who was a Casanova couldn’t take his face off the beauty standing before him, Chidinma was one of the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, he vowed right there that he was going to have her.

“I will not only direct you, I will take you there in my car, on the condition that you give me your number” He answered at her.

“He’s cute, he has a nice scent, he even has a car, he’s not bad, let me give him a trial” she thought  

“Ok, 0903159916” She called out her number.

Alex took her to the exam venue.

“I’ll call you” he said after dropping her

“Alright, thank you” she smiled.

Alex started calling Chidinma every time, they got used to each other, that they couldn't do without not hearing each other voice in a day. 

Alex did everything possible to make sure Chidinma gained admission into the school, he got her a apartment outside the school, so he could see her anytime he wants to. Their relationship was going well, he comes to sleep at her place, but he never takes her to his place. She had told him times without number to take her to his place, but he keep giving excuses.

   One night, she followed him on a bike after he left her place and he saw him park his car in front of a house, she hid somewhere, then she saw a lady coming to welcome with a hug.

She waited to see what will happen, she saw them kissing passionately, she became furious, she thought of coming down to face him.

“Madam what do you want to do?” the bike man asked her.

“I want to go and fight for what is mine” she answered.

“Is he your husband?” he asked her again. “Even if he’s your husband you should go wait for him at home. You are only going there to disgrace yourself because he is not married to anyone of you, so I will advise you to just go back home and forget about this one”  the man advised her.

“This man is right, Alex is just playing all of us:” She climbed the bike and told the bikeman to take her back. She cried althrough the night with no one to persuade her.

  Alex didn’t come to visit her the next day, they only talked on phone while she pretended as if nothing happened. Alex came to spend the night at her place the third day. She gave him a side hug which unlike her

“Babe, what's wrong?” Alex asked surprise but she didn’t answer, she just went to sit.

“No kiss?” he asked again, she still didn’t answer him.

“Babe what’s going on? Have I wronged you?” He asked sitting beside her on the bed, she didn’t answer, she was just looking with her face plain.

“Please say something, your silence is killing me” He pleaded.

“Is it the money you asked for, I’m going to credit your account now.” he said picking up his phone.

“I don’t want your money.” She answered.

“Babe please talk, what have I done wrong?”

“I will ask you a question now, and I want you to tell me the truth”

“Okay, I’m listening” He answered anxiously.

“How many girlfriends do you have?” She asked looking straight into his eyes.

Alex was surprised at that question, Chidinma must have find out that he’s into many relationships, he has 17 girlfriends, none has ever  found out about the other, he’s been playing his card well, but he was surprised that Chidinma whom he met barely four months already knew he has more than a lover 

“But what if she didn’t know, what if I’m wrong? ” He thought.

“Alex, I’m waiting, how many ladies are you dating” she asked again.

“Chidinma, before God and man, you are the only woman in my life” Alex said.

“Really?!” Chidinma screamed, she couldn’t believe her ears, so Alex could sit with her and still lie to her, she cried.

“Babe, what happened, why are you crying? I’m sorry” Alex said realizing that she already know the truth, he wished he hadn’t lied to her, she’s never going to believe him.

“Alex please leave” She said in a low tone.

“Babe, I’m sorry, please, I will tell you the truth” Alex said already on his kneels.

“I’m no longer interested, Just leave please” she said still crying.

“I’m sorry” Alex begged.

Chidinma went to open the door.

“Alex please leave, I’m begging you, if you don’t leave I will leave this room for you”

Alex decided to leave that night with the hope that he will come back when she has calm down, Chidinma locked the door behind him immediately he stepped out, then she broke down and cried.

“I’ve been a fool” she cried “I gave that idiot my virginity, if only I had listened to my mother” She cried more.

She had many relationships but she doesn’t allow them have sex with her, but she loved Alex, she cried for a long time then she wiped her tears.

“I’m going to fight for what is mine, I’m no going to lose Alex to any woman” she made up her mind.

Alex drove into his compound

“This one wey you come home this night, wetin happen” His neighbor teased him, he didn’t answer, he just went straight to his room.

Alex couldn’t sleep that night, Chidinma was his favourite of all his girlfriends, he doesn’t have a main girlfriend because to him he is just using all of them for the main time, he had plans on discarding them once he graduates, but as he started getting close to Chidinma, he found out that she’s different, apart from the fact that she’s the most beautiful among them all, she knows when he’s happy and when he needs help, she reminds him so much about his mother, she is a good cook, she's prudent.

 Chidinma was the one that taught him how to save, so he was already changing his mind about Chidinma, he already had plans to marry her.

What changed his mind totally was when they had their first sex and he found out that she was a virgin, he has slept with over thirty girls in his lifetime, he had never slept with a virgin, the love he had for her increased and he respected her more, right there he knew he has found his life partner. 

The only issue he had with Chidinma was that she was worst in bed.

“Now that Chidinma knows about my girlfriends, what am I going to do?” Alex asked rhetorically with tears coming out of his eyes.

 “I have to breakup with all of them, I will tell her the truth, I will apologize, I know Chidinma loves me too, she will forgive me.” He concluded in his mind.

     He picked up his phone, sent a break-up message to all his girlfriends, then he blocked their lines so they won’t call, he couldn’t sleep, he was just checking the time, the moment the clock hit six, he went to take his bath, put on his cloth, sprayed Chidinma’s favorite perfume. He then drove straight to Chidinma’s apartment, he knocked her door. 

“Who is there?” She asked knowing he’s the one, she knew he would come back.

 

“Babe, it’s me please, let’s sort it out, I’m ready to talk to you, I will explain please, I love you” He said.

Tears dropped from Chidinma’s eyes, she wasn’t ignorant of the effect she had on Alex.

“I love you too” She whispered to herself smiling “But you are not going to accept him that easily, he will have to fight for you” the woman in Chidinma spoke.

Just then she frowned her face, and went to open the door.

“Okay, I’m listening to your explanation” She said standing at the entrance.

“At least, let me enter now please, I know you are angry with me, but for the sake of the love we share, please let me come in” Alex pleaded.

Chidinma looked at him for some minutes.

“Okay come in, have your seat” she said pointing to her reading chair.

 She usually ask him to sit beside her on her bed, he obeyed, he didn’t want to ask for too much.

“I’m listening” She said.

“I’m sorry for lying to you last night, you are not the only one I’m dating, I have more than one girlfriend ” He said.

Chidinma suddenly became angry again, but she tried to control herself.

“How many are we?” She asked.

“Promise me you won’t be mad at me" Alex said not knowing how to say the number.

“I’m already mad at you, just say what you want to say” Chidinma answered expecting the worst.

“17” He said.

“Alex!” Chidinma screamed. She was expecting to hear like three or five.

Alex couldn’t look up to her, he was just looking down.

“How can one man have 17 girlfriends? Does this kind of person worth fighting for?” Chidinma thought. 

 “Should I just break up with him and move on, but I already gave him my virginity, will I just trade with my virginity like that?” tears dropped from her eyes again.

“Babe I’m sorry “ Alex said almost in tears.

“Another question” Chidinma said wiping her tears.

“Who is the main one?”

“You” He answered without thinking.

“So at this point you still think I’m a fool” She gave him an hard stare 

“We met me barely four months ago, what of the ones you’ve been dating before me?”

“Honestly I don’t have plans for them, I’m just a playboy, I'm just using them, I had plans to block all of them after my graduation, but when I met you I made up my mind that I was going to marry you” He said.

“How many ladies have you said this to?” Chidinma frowned.

“Oh my God" Alex said with his hand on his head.

"Babe I know your perception about me and you are right, I know it’s hard to believe me but I’m telling you the truth now, I love you and I want to marry you, if it was one of the others I won’t be back to apologize” Alex said already on his kneels.

“Okay, in that case, let’s get married” Chidinma said.

“I don’t get you” He said confused.

“Take me to your parents and let’s start our wedding preparations now”

Alex didn’t see that coming, he wasn’t ready for any marital commitment.

“Chidinma, you are in 200 level, I’m in my 400, we still both have a long way to go, I still have to go for service, masters, and the rest. Please we can’t get married now”

“Hun hun” She said raising her brow.

“I will take you to my parents, but we won’t be getting married now, please”

“Don’t worry, I don’t want to meet your parents, thanks for everything, it’s fun knowing you; now stand up and get out of my house”  

"Chichi, Please"

"Alex, use the door" she said opening the door.

“Chi Chi, please now, I’m begging you in the name of God, I can't marry now, I still have a lot of things to achieve”

“Should I just go and meet his parents, I want to meet that his kid sister he’s been telling me about” Chidinma thought.

“When will you take me to your parent?” She asked.

“This weekend” he replied

“Okay” 

“Thank you” He smiled.
